Many of you already know of Jana Berghoff – she’s been in dentistry for more than 30 years – but I wanted to take a minute to reintroduce her.

From her first job as a registered dental hygienist to Patterson Dental’s corporate technology marketing manager today, Jana has demonstrated a passion for finding and implementing systems and technologies that support dentists in providing optimal patient care. If your practice uses Eaglesoft, eServices, CAESY or Patterson Hardware, you’re benefiting from Jana’s expertise.

Jana came to her position with Patterson by way of Eaglesoft practice management software (check it out for yourself), when she had it installed for a cosmetic dentist that she worked for. Intrigued by the trainer who came to the office, she called up the Patterson Technology Center (PTC) and asked how she might become an Eaglesoft trainer herself.

Her unique background, working both front office and in clinical, made it easy for doctors and staff to trust her. Jana provided in-office training sessions for dentists in 48 states, was in a different office nearly every week and loved interacting with the dental staff.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, however, she accepted her current position in 2007, in which she provides a crucial link between the PTC, where Eaglesoft and other similar Patterson technologies are supported, and staff at our Corporate Office. In that time, she helped to bring CAESY patient education to the cloud and became a sought-after technology speaker on the national circuit.

We’re not the only ones who recognize Jana’s unique talents: In 2012, she was named one of Dental Product Report’s Top 25 Women in Dentistry. In typical fashion, however, she downplayed the award and focused instead on the fact that dentistry’s leading women – who she’s looked up to her entire career – are now her peers and good friends.

We’re privileged to have Jana on our team, helping to lead Patterson in the fast-paced and ever-changing world of dental technology.
