What is The Money Finder? Why should I use it? I don’t understand what it does. These are statements I hear all the time from staff members and doctors alike, and my face lights up when they ask! I truly love showing them how to make this tool work for their practice and I hope those of you reading this post will gain some insight as well.

Eaglesoft provides a very powerful tool in its Practice Management feature, The Money Finder, and unfortunately it can also be a tool we forget about. Remember the old adage “Use it or lose it”? If you’re not using The Money Finder in your practice you are potentially losing out on effective opportunities.

So what exactly is The Money Finder? Well, as appropriately named, it does just that – finds the hidden money in your practice. The Money Finder queries your patient base and produces a relevant list of patients who fit your practice’s specific needs at any given moment. The Money Finder also gives you the flexibility of choosing your own criteria or choosing from a variety of preset patient base queries. If you so choose, you can modify any of the preset information as you see fit.

Imagine the possibilities! Here are a few examples:

  • “Money Finder, please find me all patients who have a completed root canal, still have a proposed crown, have met their deductible and have at least $350 in remaining benefits.”
  • “Money Finder, please find me all patients between the ages of 5 and 15 (you determine age) who have never had sealants.”
  • “Money Finder, please find me all patients who have been in for a visit in the last two years but have never had a comprehensive exam.”

I can go on and on as the possibilities are nearly endless. Now, imagine the revenue opportunities when you have this information at your fingertips!

Use this information to create a call list (using InContact) and send letters, postcards or emails to your patients. Rather than sending something generic, you are targeting a specific group of patients with specific needs. Your efforts are more relevant and impactful.

I hope this information encourages you to process a few Money Finder reports in your practice and see the possibilities for yourself.  If you need any help along the way, please contact one of our wonderful support specialists at 800.475.5036 or reach out to a local Patterson Dental Technology Advisor.
