Simplifying Indirect Cementation: A Predictable Workflow with G-CEM ONE
Indirect restorations such as crowns, bridges, veneers, inlays and onlays are a major part of everyday restorative dentistry. While material innovations continue to improve the strength and esthetics of these restorations, cementation remains one of the most critical steps for long-term clinical success. A predictable bond, efficient workflow, ease of use and esthetics are key factors clinicians look for when selecting a resin cement.
This is where G-CEM ONE plays an important role in simplifying the cementation process. Designed to provide flexibility for a variety of clinical situations, it supports both adhesive and self-adhesive techniques while helping streamline indirect restorative procedures.

The Challenge of Indirect Cementation
Cementing indirect restorations requires balancing factors like restoration type, retentiveness, substrate, and bonding needs. Traditional protocols often involve multiple materials and technique-sensitive steps, increasing complexity and chair time. G-CEM ONE, being a simplified universal resin cement, helps reduce steps while maintaining reliable, predictable outcomes.
A Flexible Approach to Cementation
One of the advantages of G-CEM ONE is its versatility across different restorative materials and indications. It can be used for cementing all types of indirect restorations, including crowns and bridges, veneers, inlays and onlays, posts, etc. across all types of substrates.
This flexibility allows clinicians to rely on a single cementation system for all restorative workflows, helping reduce the need for multiple products in the operatory.

Supporting a Predictable Workflow
A simplified workflow can help improve consistency and efficiency during cementation. By integrating adhesive and self-adhesive capabilities within one system, clinicians can adapt the protocol based on the specific clinical situation while maintaining reliable performance.
Key workflow benefits include:
- Reduced technique sensitivity during cementation
- Streamlined steps that support clinical efficiency
- Reliable bond strength across all restorative materials
By simplifying cementation protocols, clinicians can focus more on restorative outcomes and less on managing complex bonding procedures.
Easy clean-up and handling properties:
In addition to its clinical performance, G-CEM ONE contributes to procedural efficiency through its easy clean-up and handling properties. The material allows for a quick tack cure of 1 second, enabling clinicians to achieve optimal state for effortless excess removal. This simplifies the clean-up process, reduces chair time, and enhances overall workflow efficiency.

Clinical Versatility: Self-Adhesive and Adhesive Workflows
G-CEM ONE adapts to both self-adhesive and adhesive techniques based on clinical needs. It can be used alone for simplified cases with sufficient retention, with Adhesive Enhancing Primer for maximum bond strength in more demanding situations and where isolation is impossible, or with G-Premio BOND for a more streamlined workflow especially when already used in restorative procedures.
Data from Dental Advisor’s 1 year retrospective report shows that G-CEM ONE delivers strong and reliable bond strength across all substrates, performing on par with or better than leading self-adhesive cements. With AEP, it achieves the highest bond strength and a 100% 1-year success rate, making it ideal for maximum retention. When used with G- Premio BOND, it offers consistently high, clinically reliable performance (98% success rate) with a more streamlined workflow.

A Simple, Step-by-Step Cementation Workflow
In cases where indirect restorations present with low retention and visible margins, selecting the right luting material becomes critical for long-term success. In this scenario, G-CEM ONE, a universal resin cement provides the balance of high bond strength, wear resistance, and color stability needed to support both function and esthetics.
Achieving a predictable result with indirect restorations often comes down to a clean, efficient protocol. With G-CEM ONE, the workflow is designed to be straightforward while still allowing flexibility based on the clinical situation.
The procedure begins with proper tooth preparation and isolation. The tooth is cleaned, rinsed, and thoroughly dried to ensure an optimal bonding surface.

Selective enamel etching can then be done using 35–40% phosphoric acid for about 10–15 seconds, followed by a thorough rinse and gentle drying.

At this stage, the choice is between two adhesive approaches depending on the case. For maximum retention, G-CEM ONE Adhesive Enhancing Primer (AEP) is applied, left undisturbed for 10 seconds, and then air-dried, without the need for light curing. Alternatively, G-Premio BOND can be used for a more familiar and streamlined adhesive workflow, applied, gently air-dried, and light cured.

The restoration is then prepared according to the manufacturer’s instructions, followed by pretreatment with G-Multi PRIMER and air drying to support optimal bonding to indirect materials.

G-CEM ONE is dispensed directly into the restoration, which is then seated immediately with moderate pressure. With a working time of approximately 2 minutes and 45 seconds at room temperature, there is sufficient time to ensure proper positioning and marginal adaptation.

As previously highlighted, a key advantages of the system becomes evident during clean-up. A brief 1-second tack cure brings the cement to an ideal gel-like consistency, allowing excess material to be removed quickly and cleanly.

Once excess cement is removed, final light curing is carried out along all margins while maintaining steady pressure to ensure complete polymerization.

The procedure concludes with finishing and polishing using appropriate polishing rubbers or discs to achieve smooth margins and optimal esthetics.

G-CEM ONE simplifies indirect cementation by combining flexibility, efficiency, and reliable performance in one system. Whether used in self-adhesive mode or with AEP or G-Premio BOND, it allows clinicians to adapt to different clinical needs without added complexity. With streamlined steps and features like the 1-second tack cure, it supports a more predictable workflow, helping clinicians deliver consistent, durable results with greater ease.
