Registration for the annual American Association of Dental Office Managers (AADOM) conference on September 19-20 in Orlando, Fla., is almost filled up! If you’ve been sitting on the fence about whether or not to attend, or you aren’t familiar with it, consider that this is the only conference for dental office managers, practice administrators and anyone involved in the business-end of the dental practice.
The conference will take place at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center, and the program line-up offers up to eight continuing education hours toward AADOM’s Fellowship Program. The conference has sold out in the last two years to both attendees and exhibitors.
Attendees will be able to choose from a wide variety of presentations specific to the efficient and successful management of the dental office. Topics include risk management, team communications, leadership and insurance coding updates, with special focus given to financial indicators and human resources. I’m especially pleased to welcome best-selling author and motivational educator Linda Larsen, CSP, as this year’s keynote speaker.
Patterson Dental is AADOM’s Diamond-Level Sponsor and will be hosting several educational sessions this year, including a presentation on Eaglesoft in which attendees will receive focused training on the software from trainers, as a part of the “AADOM Software Palooza.”
“Let’s Just Talk,” hosted by Patterson Office Supplies Marketing Manager Kim McQueen, will bring together dental office managers and business team members to discuss practice marketing, promotions and referral programs, among other topics.
And on September 21, Patterson, Sirona and AADOM are sponsoring a post-conference CEREC event for office managers and their doctors. “Why CEREC Is Right for Your Practice” will offer office managers the opportunity to learn how to market CEREC to new and existing patients, and doctors will receive hands-on clinical training.
Also on September 21, the Dental Spouse Business Network (DSBN) will meet. DSBN has grown each year and become a “must-attend” event for dental spouses. This year, speaker Debra Englehard-Nash will address the topic of work-life balance.
